On May 28, about 100 members of ASEZ, the Church of God University Student Volunteer Group, from Newton International College in Nepal, along with local residents, carried out activities as part of the “Global Blue Carbon Ecosystem Protection Initiative 2026” along the Bagmati River in Gokarneshwor Municipality. To prevent waste discarded along the river from flowing into the ocean, the participants collected approximately 650 kg of waste, including discarded plastic. They also encouraged public interest and participation through informational displays.
Narayan Bahadur Subedi, Chairman of Ward No. 5 of Gokarneshwor Municipality, along with officials from Newton International College, visited the site and expressed support for the participants’ efforts.
