ASEZ Members in the Lima Area of Peru Clean Up Carpayo Beach
Taking the Lead in Collecting Marine Debris
On May 31, about 500 members of ASEZ, the Church of God University Student Volunteer Group, from the Lima area of Peru, along with local residents, collected 5 metric tons of waste, including discarded plastic, at Carpayo Beach. The activity was carried out as part of the “2026 Global Blue Carbon Ecosystem Protection Initiative.” Members from six universities, including the National University of San Marcos and the National University of Callao, joined forces to help protect marine ecosystems. Officials from Peru’s Ministry of the Environment and the Regional Government of Callao also visited the site and encouraged the participants.
