You Will See the Deliverance God Will Bring You
Exodus 14

By celebrating the Passover, the Israelites were finally released from Egypt, where they had been slaves for 430 years. However, their joy didn’t last long. Pharaoh changed his mind and began to chase after them in hot pursuit with his chariots and his horsemen. To make matters worse, the Red Sea blocked their way.
They could neither go forward nor turn back. Being extremely terrified, the Israelites cried out to God and began to complain against Moses. Then Moses calmed them down, saying:
“Do not be afraid. You will see the deliverance God will bring you. God will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Then God said to Moses:
“Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.”
When Moses stretched out his staff over the sea as God had told him, a strong east wind blew and the waters were divided. Then the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
The Egyptian army pursued them, but as the sea went back to its place and the water flowed back, they were all destroyed. And when the Israelites saw the great power God displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared God and put their trust in Him and in Moses His servant.
There was nothing the Israelites could do in front of the wild sea that blocked their way. All that Moses did was just stretch out his staff as God had commanded him. The “miracle of the Red Sea” was a result of God’s mighty power.
The miraculous works, which God performs, are now occurring all over the world. A highway is built in a place where the obstacles blocking our way have been placed until just a moment ago, and the power of darkness that has attempted to attack us ferociously like roaring animals fall back helplessly.
The more difficult the situation is, the brighter God’s power shines. Let us not be hasty in our hearts to utter words of complaint, but with the eyes of faith let us look at the deliverance God brings us. The amazing work of salvation, which is being carried out before our own eyes, will help us fill ourselves with an even deeper sense of awe and faith in our Elohim.
