The Reason We Are Able to Save the Whole World

God doesn’t want anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance, in this sinful world full of disasters. According to this providence of God, God’s people are now preaching the gospel more diligently. This year, God has allowed us to raise His banner even higher on the great journey of saving the whole world. Keeping in step with the will of God, we are participating in the salvation work of establishing the realm of the gospel of God in our home, community, country and all around the world, finding God’s people who will be the salt of the world like the three percent of salt that purifies the sea water.

As Daniel prophesied that the rock that struck the statue would become a huge mountain and fill the whole earth, our future will be prosperous even though our beginnings are humble. If we depend on our own ability and only focus on ourselves, we will feel helpless and everything will seem impossible. However, if we realize who the One right beside us is, we will gain new strength every day. There is a certain reason we are able to save the whole world.

The last help we can use

One day, a boy, who had just started elementary school, came home from school. The boy’s mother felt proud of his son who had grown up without any trouble and started school. She asked his son, who just returned from school, to do one thing for her. It was “moving a big potted plant, which had been placed indoors throughout the winter, to the outside of the house.” The little boy squared his shoulders and tried to lift up the pot with all his strength. However, no matter how hard he tried to move the pot, it wouldn’t budge. His mother, who was watching right beside him, said, “Use all of your strength.” But although he tried to lift up the pot with all his strength, it was still immovable.

The son became exhausted and said he couldn’t do it anymore. When he was about to give up, his mother said to him.

“Why didn’t you ask me, your mom who’s right beside you, to help you? The last help you can use is me, your mom. Why don’t you ask me for help?”

God has told us to quickly preach the gospel throughout the world, and the great goal of saving the whole world has been set in accordance with the word of God. However, as we try to save the world with our own strength, it doesn’t move at all. No matter how much we think it over, we have no idea what to do. No matter how hard we try, thinking we will be able to do it with our own strength, it doesn’t move at all.

Until now we may have tried to do the work of God with our own ability, failing to think of who has been always right beside us. Now God says to us, “Why don’t you ask Me for help, saying I am the Almighty?” The wisdom of the mother in the above story is also found in the Bible.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Mt 7:7-11

For a child, it is hard to move a heavy pot by himself alone. However, there are his father and also his mother right beside him. “Mom, Dad! Help me!” If he only asks them for help like this, it’s no problem for him to move the pot.

God has told us that He will give everything to us if we ask, seek and knock. If we only depend on God and do His work, everything will be accomplished. Keeping this fact in mind, we should always ask, seek and knock in prayer to God.

What God has entrusted to us

There is one thing God has entrusted to us in these last days. That is “going to all nations and preaching the gospel to them in order for them to be saved.”

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Mt 28:18-20

As we look around the world to teach all the nations to obey everything Christ has commanded us, there are a lot of difficulties. ‘How can we overcome the language barrier? Who will go to the nations? How many members should go to accomplish the last work of salvation?’ No matter how much thought we give to the work, no matter how hard we try to solve the problems, it seems impossible to do it with our poor ability.

We are just like the child who was told by his mother to move the potted plant. As the child courageously tried to lift it up by himself alone, we boldly threw ourselves into the work of saving the world with an obedient heart. However, it is really not an easy task we can do by ourselves.

The child was able to move the potted plant easily when he asked his mother for help as she had taught him. Remembering this, we must not trust in our own strength and ability anymore, but ask God for help all the more. Then God accomplishes everything for us.

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Php 4:13

It is only God who gives us strength. We must believe that we can do everything through God. It is even hard for a child to lift up a big potted plant by himself. However, if he asks his parents for help, they will surely help him. There are no parents who will scold their child, saying, “Can’t you even do it yourself?” when he or she asks them for help. Even those who are evil, if their children ask them for something they want, give a better gift to them. Then, how much more will God our Father and God our Mother give good gifts to us if we ask Them!

Suppose a child had no money and he received some pocket money from his mother by doing cute things for her and then he bought some flowers she liked with the money and presented them to her. The mother must have been very delighted, thinking, ‘My son has tried so much to please me,’ even though her child bought her the flowers with the money he had received from her. This is the heart of every parent and also the heart of God.

God doesn’t want anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. This is God’s will. If we earnestly ask our Parents to help us fulfill the will of God, our Father and Mother will surely help us. We must remember that our heavenly Parents will always help us and open the door for us when we, Their children, ask Them for help even in small matters and try our best.

The LORD God who helped the forefathers of faith

According to how earnestly we ask God for help, a hard task can be easily achieved or an easy task can be complicated. Let’s take a look at the history of Moses in the Old Testament times.

As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD. They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.” Ex 14:10-16

The Israelites tried to cope with things by their own strength. However, when they were in a helpless situation, they became very disheartened and began to pour out their complaints without hesitation. The barrier of the Red Sea was in front of them, and behind them the Egyptian army was chasing after them. In this desperate situation, the Israelites thought they would helplessly die by the sword of the Egyptian army.

For them there was a power that they had not yet used. It was the power of God who was right beside them. Indeed, when Moses cried out to God and just stretched out his staff, the Red Sea was divided. It was neither the power of Moses nor the power of the Israelites. The Israelites could never divide the Red Sea even though they united all their strength together. The miracle of the Red Sea was possible only because God heard the cry of Moses and empowered him.

God showed His mighty power not only through Moses but also through many other forefathers of faith such as Joshua, Gideon, Samson and David. Whenever they asked God for help through prayer, all the things that had not been achieved before began to be accomplished.

Now, there is a certain reason we are able to accomplish the work of saving the whole world. God has already made every circumstance favorable for us to do His errand. However, we have not yet earnestly asked, sought and knocked. That’s why we still have not been able to accomplish saving the whole world.

We do need God our Father and God our Mother. In this year, we must diligently seek, ask and knock in prayer to our heavenly Parents. If we do so, all the obstacles in front of us will recede just as the Red Sea parted and all the waters receded, and the glory of Jerusalem our Mother will be revealed throughout the world, wherever we go.

“According to your faith will it be done to you” — Jesus’ miracle system

God our Father and God our Mother are always right beside us, and beside our heavenly Parents there are the armies of heaven that always follow Their commands and prepare everything to run the miracle system, watching the process of the gospel work. Whenever we ask God Elohim for help, They will surely help us.

The miracle system, which Jesus showed to His people many times, worked when they sought, asked and knocked with faith. Let’s see what occurred in those days through Matthew 9.

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied. Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you”; and their sight was restored… Mt 9:27-30

No matter how much the blind men tried to restore their sight, they couldn’t recover their eyesight to see the bright world. So, they came to Jesus and asked Him for help. Jesus asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” Then the blind men replied, “Yes, Lord.” They showed Jesus that they asked Him in sincere faith, not just following the crowd who only repeatedly said, “Lord, Lord.” Then Jesus said, “According to your faith will it be done to you,” and their sight was restored. The Bible shows us this fact clearly.

Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us. When we go forward to save the whole world, there will be many traps, snares, stumbling blocks and many other hindrances before us. If we try to overcome them with our own strength, we will fail to get over them. Let’s pray a lot and earnestly ask God for help. By doing so, we should lead all the souls around the world to repentance and save them. This is the will of God.

“Do you believe that I am able to do this? Then, according to your faith will it be done to you.” This is the formula for operating the miracle system. Faith is required to accomplish God’s work. We need to believe that the Almighty Elohim always help us if we only ask Them for help. With this faith we should carry out the gospel mission.

I will surely help you

Without God’s help it is impossible for us to accomplish the great work of saving the whole world; without God we cannot even imagine doing the work. However, since God is with us, it is really not a reckless thing to do. God made all things, divided between the land and the sea, and created light. The Creator God is now helping us. Let’s confirm again a definite promise in which God binds Himself by an oath to truly help us.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isa 41:10

It is impossible for us to lift up the earth or hang it on nothing. However, God suspends the earth like a sphere on empty space. The Almighty is our God. The mighty God helps us, so we can do anything no matter how hard it is, can’t we?

… “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior … Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you … Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth—everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Isa 43:1-7

God says He will help us. Even though a man has promised to help someone, he may not keep his word when he is in a difficult situation. However, God always keeps His word.

“Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.” Isa 45:22-23

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.” Isa 46:10-11

Every word of God never fails to be fulfilled. Think of the Israelites’ 40-year sojourn in the desert. In the process of God’s administration, the faithless people didn’t believe God’s promise; they were filled with complaints and committed idolatry, so they all came to die after all. However, God gave the Israelites the land of Canaan, flowing with milk and honey, as their possession in the end, just as He had promised. Our God is the One who surely fulfills what He has planned.

If you are lacking in ability, ask God earnestly. God opens a door for whoever asks Him. He opened a door for Moses, who was unskilled in speech, to boldly stand before Pharaoh. Through the apostles who seemed weak and lacking in ability, God fulfilled a remarkable growth of the gospel in the early Church.

God says, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age,” when we go and preach in Samaria and even to the ends of the earth, teaching all people to obey everything Christ has commanded us. Since our Father and Mother are with us even to the end of the age, we can do everything. Believing in the power of God, let’s seek and ask God Elohim who are right beside us, and fulfill the salvation of the whole world!
