Like a Bolt Out of the Blue

I was busy arranging the kitchen till late at night because my family was planning to move out. Cleaning the refrigerator as a last chore, I opened a plastic bottle to see what was inside. At that moment, the contents in the bottle suddenly burst out from the bottle with a loud pop and splashed; the old fermented raspberry broth burst out.

The kitchen was covered with the somberly reddish raspberry broth from the ceiling to the floor. It was just like a bolt out of the blue. I was shivering without knowing what to do in that unexpected situation. My husband, who was watching TV, rushed to the kitchen, surprised.

He quickly grasped the situation and took the rag to clean the stain. He walked quietly not to wake the kids, but the sound of the bottle was so loud that our daughters, who were heavy sleepers, came out of their room, startled. They calmed me down and helped their dad clean the kitchen. After the kitchen came back to its original state by the help of my family, I could be restored to quiet.

That day, I was greatly comforted by my family. My husband and daughters neither complained nor got irritated by the noise I had made in the middle of the night. Rather, they cleaned the mess quietly and comforted me as if it was their fault. I felt sorry and thankful to my family who did the work that I had to do.

This incident let me keenly realize the importance of my family. No matter when and no matter what happens, the one I can rely on and love is my family. I have no doubt about this.
