Until All of the Prophecies Are Fulfilled
Kim Min-gyeong from Cheongju, Korea
It has almost been a year since I started preaching overseas. When my heart was going to be weakened due to the hot weather lasting throughout the year, a great language barrier, and unpalatable food, I became spiritually renewed by the following verses:
“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?” Mt 26:52–54
Jesus was able to avoid the situation at that time, but He silently endured the suffering of the cross to fulfill the prophecies of the Bible. Everything Jesus did to save His children according to the prophecies helped me feel a strong sense of responsibility for the gospel mission. Of course, the prophecies of the Bible will surely be fulfilled whether I carry out the mission or not. However, I want to be a protagonist who fulfills the prophecies. So, I repeated these words in my mind: “If I don’t do this work, how can the prophecies of the Bible be fulfilled?” After having the sense of responsibility and the mindset of a master, I was able to overcome my hardships without difficulty.
These words from Father always give me the strength to stand firm. I will continue to deliver the words of God diligently to become a protagonist who fulfills the prophecies.
