The Reason the Big Tree Fell

A big tree had stood firmly for four hundred years on a hill in the State of Colorado in the United States, but one day it fell down with a loud crash.

The tree had overcome rough storms for several hundred years. Even though it had been hit by lightning fourteen times, it had not fallen. It had been strong enough to endure several huge storms and even an earthquake.

Then, why did this strong tree fall? Surprisingly, it was because of several small ground beetles. Ground beetles went inside the shell of the tree trunk, and continuously gnawed its stems tree little by little. Eventually, the strongest and the greatest tree in the forest ended up falling.
