When pastoral staff attend the General Assembly, look back on the past year, and plan for the new year according to the sacred calendar, what they focus on most is Heavenly Mother’s words. The central theme of the 2026 General Assembly, held from March 16 to 19, was love. Through the teachings Mother gave throughout the schedule, as well as the 2025 year-end review and presentations of outstanding examples in various fields, pastoral staff from Korea and abroad were reminded once again that souls can be saved when each of them internalizes and practices the love that God taught and demonstrated.

How is God’s love being put into practice in Zions throughout countries with different cultures, environments, and ways of thinking? What did the pastoral staff learn and resolve through the General Assembly? During this period, overseas pastoral staff shared their realizations and visions. The editorial team has compiled their heartfelt reflections and resolutions.

How do you feel after wrapping up a year of gospel work and participating in the General Assembly?

Pastor Jeon Jae-ho from Brasília, Brazil

At this General Assembly, Mother continually emphasized love. I felt sorry, thinking that Mother repeatedly reminded us of this because I still fall short, even though I should have cared for the members more attentively with love and sincerity.
Although I am lacking, the gospel in Brazil has been accomplished amazingly and swiftly through the power of Father and Mother. When I was assigned to Brazil in 2007, there was only one church in the entire country, the São Paulo Church, even though Brazil is eighty-five times the size of Korea. Now, churches have been established throughout the country, and many beautiful members are gathering to a degree that cannot be compared with that time. Along with the growth of the Church, all the glorious achievements, including the Church of God receiving the Legislative Merit Medal from the National Congress of Brazil and being invited to the National Congress and city councils, are truly by God’s grace. There were difficult times when I did not know which way to go, but Mother encouraged me and led me by the hand, making today’s results possible. Going forward, all we need to do is obey the words of Father and Mother and practice love.

Elder Cho Hyeong-jun from Melbourne, Australia

Seeing Mother again after a long time made my heart ache as I saw how worn and weary She looked. In truth, isn’t the gospel something that could be accomplished even without us? Yet Father and Mother entrusted it to us so that we could be born again and receive blessings. Looking back, I felt deeply sorry for the times when I failed to understand Their will and instead tried to do things according to my own thoughts. I believe They called me to this General Assembly to correct my faith and help me realize the heart and love of Father and Mother. Love seems to make all things possible.

How are Mother’s words and love shining in different countries?

Pastor Song Young-hoon from Puebla, Mexico

People who come to the Church for the first time often say that the members seem just like family. I believe this is because Mother treats us with love and reminds us that we are the heavenly family. As a result, the members who came earlier naturally treat one another as family.
It would be wonderful if faith always remained constant, but at times it is shaken unexpectedly. In those moments, the members gain strength again by listening to Mother’s words. Beyond simply helping them preserve their own faith through the living words of God, Her words become the driving force that enables them to preach the gospel in other cities. Because they know that Mother delights in unity, the members come together and carry out united preaching efforts, even when circumstances are not easy. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the standard by which the members live is Mother’s words and the love contained in them.
That is why this year we want to raise up more gospel workers full of love through education. Each person faces different circumstances and difficulties, but because we all have deep love for God Elohim, I believe we can overcome every hardship and fulfill God’s will together.

Pastor Jorge Correa from Denver, CO, U.S.

Over the past year, the members of our church supported the gospel work in Uruguay and experienced some of the most passionate and moving moments we have ever had. Everyone who participated in the short-term mission returned with stronger faith. Once they go there, they cannot help but think about the time when Father preached the gospel. Reflecting on how He secured funds for preaching, preached the gospel, and even wrote the Truth Books under unfamiliar and difficult circumstances, the members prepare for the next step. They do so with the faith that if God were to command them to establish a church in the desert, they would go immediately. Because they understand that they must faithfully fulfill their responsibilities wherever they are in order to seize every opportunity for the gospel, they continue to devote themselves to the gospel even now.

Elder Gaspar Hilarion II A. Calumba from Mandaluyong, Philippines

That is why the word of God is important. In the end, both love and obedience come through the word. In our church, we actively use the online education, which is like a gift from Mother. We continually study the words given at the proper time and personally reflect each day on the education and volunteer activities we participated in. It may not seem special and may even appear insignificant, but the results are not. Members who are fed by God’s words every day and examine their faith become filled with the Holy Spirit and carry out the gospel with an enthusiasm that never cools.

Pastor Jeong Gyu-yong from Maputo, Mozambique

There is a path and a vision in the words God gives us. When I first came to Mozambique, the number of members was increasing rapidly, but there were not enough workers. We needed to help the members who had come earlier take the lead in the gospel work with a sense of mission. It was not easy because there were not yet any workers whom the members could look to as role models.
Looking back, however, that role did not necessarily have to be fulfilled by a person. The answer was already in God’s words. As we continually shared Mother’s words so that the members could be transformed, like clothes gradually becoming wet in a gentle rain, they came to realize that completing the gospel work in Mozambique was their blessing and began to rise up. Later, several local pastoral staff members emerged, declaring, “We will complete the gospel in Mozambique.” As a result, the truth is spreading even more rapidly. Whenever I see members who want to resemble Mother in every way, from their attitude toward the word to their earnest desire to save even one soul, I am filled with gratitude.

We heard that unity beyond regions and national borders was achieved through love.

Elder Cho Won-ho from Borella, Colombo WP, Sri Lanka

That is correct. First, we must be filled with love ourselves before we can share love with others.
Sri Lanka’s economy became extremely difficult before and after the COVID-19 pandemic, to the point that even gas and electricity were not supplied smoothly. People were simply struggling to make a living. During that difficult period for everyone, members from Korea and India came on short-term mission trips to support the gospel work in Sri Lanka.
Preaching in Sri Lanka is challenging because Sinhala and Tamil are spoken. Members from India who could speak Tamil came to Sri Lanka after saving money for anywhere from one or two years to several years. Members from Korea studied Sinhala before coming and preached with great passion. What was the source of all that effort and dedication? It was love. Because they love Father and Mother, they work diligently, spend carefully to save mission funds, and study foreign languages late into the night, even languages they could not read before, all for the salvation of souls, which Father and Mother desire most. Inspired by their example, the local members also set aside their own difficulties and joined the preaching work, producing even greater results. Even now, the members remain determined to achieve good results through unity.

Elder Cho Hyeong-jun from Melbourne, Australia

Members from New Zealand also came to support the gospel work in Australia. Because Australia is such a large country, many workers are needed. Australian and New Zealand members formed teams and carried out mission work in various cities, learning from one another, encouraging one another, sharing the same purpose, and experiencing the joy of unity. The response from the members was so enthusiastic that we plan to continue international united preaching this year as well.

Elder Kim Ju-young from Paris, France

The gospel in France is also gaining vitality through short-term and long-term mission teams from Korea. Even though AI technology has advanced, people still need to learn French in order to communicate with others and teach the truth. It takes at least six months of study, and no one can do it for them. They must endure that period through their own efforts. Although it is frustrating and difficult, the Korean members gain strength through preaching and quietly carry out their responsibilities. Their clear sense of purpose and unwavering spiritual focus become an example to the local members.

Love seems to make all things possible.

Pastor Choi Gi-cheol from Quito, Ecuador

That is true. However, pastoral staff must always examine themselves to ensure that they convey the love Father and Mother gave us exactly as They gave it. It would be wonderful if we could always remember our first love, but at times our own thoughts and personalities come forward. That is probably why Mother continually teaches us and shows us love by example.
I believe that remembering and practicing Mother’s love is the surest way to achieve unity. When we humbly obey Mother’s teachings instead of putting our own experiences first, the love within us deepens, and we become united through God’s love.

Pastor Ko Hong-jun from Tokyo, Japan

One evening, I went to deliver supplies to a local church in another area and saw several new members gathered together. At first, I thought it was a Bible study meeting, but it turned out that they had gathered to say goodbye to one of the mission team members who was returning to Korea. It seemed that they had developed deep affection for the member who had taught them the truth of life and cared for them so attentively.
As the years pass, I can feel the members’ love growing deeper. Sometimes, however, I fail to care for them properly because I am busy, so I continually strive not to lose my original mindset.

Missionary Kim Dong-nam from Nairobi, Kenya

While serving in Kenya, I often thought about Father and Mother, who accomplished the gospel under difficult circumstances. At first, I did not know how to approach members whose culture was different from mine, so I constantly prayed for guidance. Eventually, however, I realized that They had already shown me the way. Just as Father and Mother did, my role was to treat the members kindly and thoughtfully, explain things carefully whenever they did not understand, and never give up no matter how many times it took. Even when visible changes were small at first, I set aside my own judgments and ideas, learned the culture, and focused on understanding the members through communication. As a result, the members are now striving earnestly to resemble Mother.

Elder Kang Ji-hoon from Harare, Zimbabwe

Patience is necessary throughout that process. Even though I had lived in South Africa for a long time, Zimbabwe was different. There were few workers and much to do, but that was all right because it was the path Mother had already walked.
First, I listened to each member’s story. I listened to their vision and encouraged them by telling them that I would help them. It is only a small imitation of what Mother does, but when we invest time and sincerity in this way, the members see the concern of a pastoral staff member as Mother’s concern and gain strength and comfort. Most members who discover a gospel vision eventually become workers according to that vision.

We look forward to a fruitful 2026 built on love. Please share your resolutions.

Pastor Choi Yeon-yu from Omaha, NE, U.S.

Compared with the blessings I have received from Mother, I am still lacking. I feel sorry and grateful that Mother always gives me warm comfort and encouragement rather than rebuke. Throughout the General Assembly, I deeply felt Mother’s love. I will keep Mother’s words in my heart and pray even more earnestly this year so that I can contribute to the completion of the gospel.

Elder David Walker from Tampa, FL, U.S.

During the General Assembly, I personally received Mother’s love and care. I could feel that She wants us to convey that same love to the members.
What Father and Mother came to this earth to give us is love. Knowledge and information can be obtained easily by anyone, but true love can be received only from God Elohim in Zion. Members who come to understand that warm love remain by God’s side to the end and share that love with their family members, neighbors, and acquaintances.
Until now, I have lacked love. I sincerely want to apologize to the members. When I return to the United States, I will immediately put into practice everything I learned at the General Assembly. I will serve and devote myself to the members and become a prophet who shares Mother’s love with the world.
