ASEZ Members at the University of Southeastern Philippines Clean Up the Tabok Coastal Area

On January 25, more than 480 members of ASEZ, the World Mission Society Church of God University Student Volunteer Group, from the University of Southeastern Philippines, together with local citizens, carried out a cleanup at the Tabok Coastal Area in Matina Aplaya, Davao City. The activity was held as part of the Zero Plastic 2040 initiative, which promotes global action to end plastic production and use by 2040. With the aim of responding to climate change, participants collected plastic waste, which can release greenhouse gases as it breaks down under sunlight. Through their united efforts, they gathered 700 kg (1,540 lbs) of waste, including plastic, from the coastal area. Davao City Councilors Jessica M. Bonguyan and Rachel P. Zozobrado visited the site and encouraged the volunteers, expressing appreciation for their efforts to protect the local environment.
