20th Anniversary of the ‘Worldwide Blood Drive to Give Life Through the Love of the Passover’
The Church of God has actively conducted blood drives to save lives, commemorating Christ’s love, who granted eternal life to humanity through the Passover. Beginning in Seoul in 2005, the “Worldwide Blood Drive to Give Life Through the Love of the Passover” has now approached its 1,700th event over the past 20 years, delivering hope through continued acts of life-sharing around the world. 2025 Ascension Day and the Day of Pentecost
On May 29, approximately 7,800 Churches of God worldwide held services to commemorate Ascension Day. On June 8, the Day of Pentecost was held around the globe. Ascension Day commemorates the ascension of Jesus Christ, observed 40 days after Resurrection Day. After witnessing Jesus’ ascension, the early Church members gathered and devoted themselves to prayer. On the tenth day—Pentecost—they received the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit of the early rain marked a turning point in the spread of the New Covenant gospel beyond Israel to the world (Ac 1:6–15; 2:1–11). The 2nd ASEZ WAO Global Forum
On June 4, the day before World Environment Day, the 2nd ASEZ WAO Global Forum was held at The Suite Hotel Jeju in Seogwipo City. Leading up to the event, ASEZ WAO raised awareness of plastic pollution through busking and street campaigns in Jeju, Seoul, and Busan at the end of May. Building on this momentum, the forum—held under the same theme—served to deepen understanding and strengthen commitment to action, reinforcing global solidarity. ASEZ WAO’s First Busking Performance Calls for a Plastic-Free Future
Plastic was invented in the 19th century and has become a useful material in nearly every industry. However, while plastic has made life more convenient, it has also deeply invaded nature and harmed the ecosystem. The 82nd Overseas Visiting Group
Amidst the fresh green leaves of spring, the 82nd Overseas Visiting Group arrived in Korea with bright, hopeful smiles. Having faithfully observed the Passover and the Day of Resurrection, they prepared for their journey with gratitude and praise for the grace of Heavenly Father and Mother, who came to a distant land in the East to restore the truth of salvation—the new covenant. A total of 90 members from nine countries, including the United States, Canada, Peru, Mexico, Hungary, Finland, Russia, Croatia, and the Czech Republic, participated in the two-week schedule from April 24 to May 8. Donation for Wildfire Relief in North Gyeongsang Province
On April 7, the Church of God donated 100 million KRW (approximately USD 73,000) to the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government to support wildfire relief efforts. The donation was made with the hope that victims of the recent disaster ccould swiftly return to their normal lives. The wildfire, which broke out in Uiseong County at the end of March, spread rapidly due to strong winds and dry conditions, engulfing nearby counties and cities, including Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok. According to data released by the provincial government on April 3, the fire claimed 27 lives, destroyed about 4,000 homes, and displaced approximately 4,000 people. Worldwide Academic Year Opening Worship 2025
On March 2, the “Worldwide Academic Year Opening Worship 2025” was held for university students who were returning to campus after a long vacation. Despite the light spring rain, the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute was filled with 9,300 attendees, including undergraduate and graduate students, their parents, as well as young adult and student teachers and the pastoral staff. Winter Student Camp & Elementary Winter Vacation Camp 2025
In January, when a new year begins, countries in the Northern Hemisphere experience winter, while those in the Southern Hemisphere enjoy summer. Despite these seasonal differences, the atmosphere of the Church of God’s student camps around the world remains largely the same. Regardless of the weather, students of the Church of God gather to study the Bible, explore cultural sites and nature, broaden their perspectives, and strengthen friendships. On February 23, early spring arrived at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. Like fresh green sprouts, students gathered for the “School Year Opening Worship for Students 2025.” Despite the chilly breeze, their lively conversations and laughter brought warmth and energy to the institute. ‘Hold Hope!’ Campaign in Celebration of World Day of Social Justice
In recognition of the World Day for Social Justice (February 20), the World Mission Society Church of God launched the “Hold Hope!” campaign throughout February, reaching out to vulnerable communities across the globe. The United Nations established the World Day for Social Justice at its 62nd General Assembly in 2007, encouraging international cooperation in fighting poverty, promoting equality, and building inclusive societies. In support of this initiative, Church of God members in around 30 countries—including Myanmar, Venezuela, and Malawi—delivered food donations to approximately 460 households in partnership with local governments. Brazilian National Congress Holds Solemn Session in Honor of the World Mission Society Church of God
On February 19 (local time), the Brazilian National Congress held a “Solemn Session in Honor of the World Mission Society Church of God (Sessão Solene em Homenagem à Igreja de Deus Sociedade Missionária Mundial)” at the National Congress Palace in Brasília, recognizing the Church’s outstanding volunteer work and community service. Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, a cold wave and heavy snowfall swept across the country. On December 8, despite temperatures dropping to -9°C (15.8°F), the Church of God in Chuncheon was filled with the warmth of cheers and laughter. The Church of God hosted the “2nd Happy Seminar for Soldiers” to support those enduring the harsh winter season.
