Dedication services were held consecutively in Brazil, the largest country in South America, on April 18 and 21. The services were held for the Church of God in Manaus, Amazonas State, and the Church of God in Brasília, where Brazil’s capital is located. Held in conjunction with the Sabbath morning worship and the Third Day worship, respectively, the dedication services took place amid the congratulations and warm welcome of members, citizens, and local leaders.

During his visit to Brazil, General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol prayed through the dedication services that the blessings of God Elohim would overflow throughout the country. At the Manaus Church, he reminded the attendees that the church is a place where God’s blessings are delivered to all people. He said, “Just as the members of the early Church believed in and followed Jesus, who granted eternal life through the Passover of the new covenant, all people today can receive the keys to heaven when they receive Christ Ahnsahnghong, who restored the truth of the new covenant that had been destroyed by Satan.”

At the Brasília Church, he emphasized the mission of God’s people through the history of King Cyrus of Persia. Cyrus was a figure whose name and deeds were prophesied in the book of Isaiah in the Old Testament. After conquering Babylon, he fulfilled the prophecy by sending the Israelites, who had been held captive there, back to Jerusalem and supporting the rebuilding of God’s temple (Isa 45:1–13; Ezr 1:1–11). Pastor Kim said, “God has recorded our names in the book of life and promised us heaven, which is filled with happiness and joy. Let us be moved even more deeply than Cyrus was, preach the gospel to the ends of the earth, save the world, and move forward toward a glorious future.”

The new sanctuary of the Manaus Church, which was established in 2007 and has continued to grow steadily, was built in the Centro district with three above-ground floors and one basement level. In Manaus, known as the gateway to the Amazon, members have been striving to deliver God’s love and the message of salvation to all people in Amazonas State by communicating with various tribes in the Amazon rainforest and holding invitation events. When a fire affected six hundred households in the Educandos district in 2018, members immediately went to the site and carried out recovery efforts.

The Brasília Church, which was established in the same year as the Manaus Church, recently built a new three-story sanctuary in Taguatinga, a center of education, transportation, and commerce. Members have been putting God’s good teachings into practice through a wide range of activities, including blood drives, neighbor-helping efforts, and environmental cleanups. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they continued to share love by donating masks to the Taguatinga Regional Administration and sending messages of encouragement to medical staff at local hospitals.’

In recognition of the Church of God’s long-standing contributions to civic harmony and community development, the National Congress of Brazil awarded the Church the Legislative Merit Medal in December 2022. In February 2025, the National Congress also held the Official Commemorative Session for the World Mission Society Church of God. For these dedication services, leaders from the political, legal, and educational sectors, including a senator from Amazonas State, sent congratulatory messages celebrating the construction of the churches.

Members who attended the dedication services expressed their determination, saying, “We will preach the gospel with passion and dedication so that all 210 million people of Brazil may receive God’s love and blessings.”
