The 78th Overseas Visiting Group
In obedience to God’s command to save 8 billion people, prophets of this age, leading the gospel with strong faith and passion, congregated in Korea from across the globe. The 78th Overseas Visiting Group comprises 150 pastoral staff members representing 26 countries, such as the U.S., Austria, South Africa, Cameroon, Mexico, Argentina, Mongolia, and Nepal. Arriving one after another starting from November 2, they stayed for approximately a week, refining the virtues essential for pastoral staff and expanding their perspectives through diverse itineraries. Some arrived in Korea within a few hours, while others took a couple of days. Donations to Flood and Wildfire Victims and Food for Neighbors in Need for Chuseok
As the frequency of wildfires and floods is rapidly increasing around the world due to climate change, the damage is increasing in Korea, too. The victims lost their livelihood overnight and live in pain and anguish every day. The Church of God delivered love to the neighbors who had been impacted by wildfires and floods that occurred throughout the country this year, hoping that they would gain hope and return to their normal lives as soon as possible. Education & Training for Teachers for Children, Students, Young Adults 2023
On September 7, with a sunny weather in autumn, the “Education & Training for Teachers for Children, Students, and Young Adults 2023” was held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. The Church of God operates a teacher system for each age group so that children, students, and young adults can set the right values in accordance with God’s teachings. Student Camp for the Second Half of 2023
Vacation is a fun time for students to get away from the everyday routines at school and explore various experiences. The Church of God holds the student camp every year, so that the students can spend their vacation more meaningfully. The student camp for the second half of 2023 was held in Korea, the U.S., Peru, and Mongolia from July to August according to the schedule of each church. The 2nd Chamber Orchestra Concert for Students
On August 27, when summer was not over yet, the Church of God held the 2nd Chamber Orchestra Concert for Student. The Messiah Orchestra members prepared the event to encourage students to start their new semester with excitement after their short summer vacation. The concert, which was held at the New Jerusalem Pangyo Temple, Korea, was a great success, being attended by more than 2,100 audiences, including students, parents, and teachers in the metropolitan area. It was also broadcast live nationwide on YouTube, and more than 4,400 people watched it. At the end of July, a total of about 920 members, including the Church of God University Student Volunteer Group [ASEZ] members, ASEZ WAO members, and the workers for the Headquarters of the Church of God went to 117 cities in 49 countries in order to preach the holy love of God Elohim and the gospel of the new covenant to people around the world and to share culture with local people. ASEZ Seminar on Biodiversity 2023
ASEZ (World Mission Society Church of God University Student Volunteer Group) is making efforts on and off campus in order to protect the earth from climate crisis, even during school vacations. On July 24, ASEZ held the “ASEZ Seminar on Biodiversity 2023” in a classroom inside the Seoul National University College of Education. This seminar was organized by ASEZ members of Seoul National University to inform university students about the importance of biodiversity and to share the knowledge necessary to preserve it. Volunteer Service for Maintaining Road Drains in Preparation for the Rainy Season in 2023
Climate change has changed the phenomenon of the rainy season. Frequent unpredictable torrential downpours bring about facility damage, flooding, and safety accidents. Clogged road drains are one of the factors that cause more damage from heavy rain. If we don’t remove the garbage, fallen leaves, and soil that have accumulated in the drains, it is difficult for drainage systems to function properly when it rains. Before the rainy season came, the members of the Church of God rolled up their sleeves to maintain rainwater drains along roads in their communities. ASEZ WAO Signs MOU with Asia Climate Change Education Center
The World Mission Society Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group [ASEZ WAO] signed a memorandum of understanding with the Asia Climate Change Education Center (hereinafter the Climate Education Center) to cooperate for the Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs]. The 77th Overseas Visiting Group
During the rainy season, discomfort index is high as it often rains in hot weather. However, the overseas members who visited Korea from all over the world looked sunny bright throughout their stay. The 77th Overseas Visiting Group, consisting of 180 members from 39 countries, arrived in Korea before and after July 5. IWBA Entrance Ceremony 2023
On June 11, the entrance ceremony for the International Worker Bible Academy [IWBA] 2023 was held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. IWBA is an education system that helps young adults, who are pursuing their dreams while working at their workplace, build the right faith and pursue the right values through God’s teachings.
