Gangbuk Eastern Church Region, Korea: Chamber Orchestra Healing Concert With Family and Neighbors
A Venue for Communication and Fellowship Through Music
On October 18, the Gangbuk Eastern Church Region hosted the Chamber Orchestra Healing Concert With Family and Neighbors at the Church of God in Dongdaemun, Seoul. The event, designed to foster communication and fellowship with the local community, brought together approximately 1,000 attendees, including church members, their families and friends, as well as guests from political and media circles.
The chamber orchestra, composed of members of the Church of God, presented a selection of bright and heartwarming pieces, including the New Song “I Imagine to Myself” and “Je te veux” by Erik Satie. The vocal ensemble also received enthusiastic applause as they performed the New Song “Indeed, How Blessed We All Are” along with the Korean fusion traditional piece “Beautiful Country.”
Kim Yong-ho, a member of the Dongdaemun District Council who attended the concert, shared his thoughts, saying, “The Church has created a cultural space where citizens can find comfort and healing together. It demonstrates the positive role of religion in today’s society, where communication among neighbors has diminished and relationships have grown distant.”
