Churches in Gyeongnam, Honam, and Gyeonggi Provinces Carry Out Flood Emergency Relief

Following an extended dry monsoon period and persistent drought, sudden heavy rains swept across various parts of South Korea from July 16 to 20. During this period, Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province recorded 632 millimeters of rainfall, leading to a rapid rise in river levels. The swollen rivers overflowed, flooding roads and homes. Landslides also occurred, causing significant damage to residential and commercial properties and resulting in casualties. In response, starting on July 20, about 1,700 volunteers from the Church of God visited severely flood-affected areas over eight days to assist with recovery efforts. Nationwide Flood Prevention During the Monsoon Season 2025

As the flood season (June 21 to September 20) approaches, with increasing risks of heavy rain and typhoons, the government and local municipalities have been busy installing flood barriers and monitoring areas prone to inundation. In support of a safe summer for local communities, the Church of God also carried out storm drain maintenance and cleaning activities. From June 15 to July 13, more than 7,700 members across the country—including in Seoul, Incheon, Taebaek, Changwon, and Iksan—rolled up their sleeves to take part. 2025 Ascension Day and the Day of Pentecost

On May 29, approximately 7,800 Churches of God worldwide held services to commemorate Ascension Day. On June 8, the Day of Pentecost was held around the globe. Ascension Day commemorates the ascension of Jesus Christ, observed 40 days after Resurrection Day. After witnessing Jesus’ ascension, the early Church members gathered and devoted themselves to prayer. On the tenth day—Pentecost—they received the Holy Spirit. A special event was held to uplift the weary shoulders of workers. On April 16, a “Seminar for Workers” took place at the Church of God locations in Cheongcheon, Incheon; Wonju; and Uichang, Changwon. Over 2,200 people, including members from nearby regions such as Bucheon, Gimhae, and Gangneung, attended the seminar, bringing along their coworkers, friends, and acquaintances to share in its touching messages. Donation for Wildfire Relief in North Gyeongsang Province

On April 7, the Church of God donated 100 million KRW (approximately USD 73,000) to the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government to support wildfire relief efforts. The donation was made with the hope that victims of the recent disaster ccould swiftly return to their normal lives. The wildfire, which broke out in Uiseong County at the end of March, spread rapidly due to strong winds and dry conditions, engulfing nearby counties and cities, including Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok. Dedication Service of Namyang Church in Hwaseong

On March 11, about a month before the Passover, the dedication service of Namyang Church in Hwaseong was held alongside the Third Day worship. Located in Namyang-eup, home to the Hwasung Special City Hall, the church stands in a key area in the western part of Hwasung—a city even larger in area than Seoul.
