This is to help you meditate day and night on God’s words that revive your soul.
Rejoice in the Lord
If we carefully examine all things made by God, we are able to realize how much grace God is bestowing on us. Around us there are so many things to be joyful and thankful for—fresh air, water, green pasture, loving people, happiness from a change of weather or season, and so on. So the Bible frequently mentions the virtue of being joyful and thankful, as one of the virtues that Christians must have. At a palace or a castle where a king lived, both in western and eastern countries, a special flag was planted to signify the presence of the king. Rejoicing always as Christians is like a flag that signifies God’s presence in us. On the contrary, if Christians…
Covenant and Faith
Our society is maintained by promises. For example, a bill is just a piece of paper, but because of a promise made among people it has monetary value with which they can buy or sell things. If a child tears up a money bill and throws it away, people will get upset, but if it is a simple piece of paper, they will not care too much about it. That is because it does not have a promise attached to it, while a money bill does. So, a promise is important. There is a promise, or a covenant, between God and humankind as well. If we do not understand the relationship between a covenant and faith in our life of…
God’s Gospel Workers
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” Lk 10:2 The children of Zion, who are living in the prophetical age of the Feast of Tabernacles, the season of harvest, are workers in charge of the spiritual harvest. Although we are lacking in many ways, God made us gospel workers and entrusted us with the gospel. In autumn when everyone is busy harvesting, a wise and diligent worker refreshes the spirit of his master, but a sluggard is like vinegar to the teeth of his master and smoke to his eyes (Ps 10:5, 26). Now, let us have time to check what kind of…
Take Care of Others Through the Gospel
I know that our brothers and sisters in Zion are always working hard for the gospel, regardless of hot summer or cold winter weather conditions. God came to this earth to seek and save the lost and preached the gospel. This gospel, which leads human beings to the kingdom of heaven, is the new covenant that we are keeping and preaching now. If we summarize the gospel of the new covenant in one word, we can say that it is the “gospel through which we take care of others.” The Bible likens the relationship between God and His people to the relationship between a shepherd and his sheep. Christ, the good Shepherd, took care of His people, represented as the…
God Repays Everyone According to Their Deeds
Foolish people say in their hearts, “There is no God,” and their hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong (Ps 14:1). However, God inspects everything and repays everyone for what they have done. According to the way of the world as well, everyone is paid back for what they have done. If they give love to others, they will be rewarded for their love someday, and if they do evil, they will be paid back for their evil. Whatever they do, it will always return to them. Our God came to this earth and did the greatest good for us—He loved us and saved our souls. So, in order to repay God for His love, we are putting forth…
God, Wonderful Counselor
Each and every teaching God has given us is written down in the Bible. However, there are many people who neither know God nor recognize God’s will even though they read the Bible. It is because God takes away the wisdom and understanding of those who follow man-made rules and gives it only to His chosen people—He opens their spiritual eyes and ears so that they can understand His words (Isa 29:13-14; Mt 13:10-16). Considering this fact, we come to know that God is truly “Wonderful Counselor.” When we look carefully into all things created by God, we can find the profound providence of the Creator in them. We can also see through the Bible that God’s wonderful counsel is…
Fear God
When we look carefully into all things, we can see that the power of God is so amazing and great. God hangs the heavy earth in empty space like a balloon and makes it keep moving. He governs all things in the universe and keeps them in order, and He even changes the order if He wants. This past spring, a festival of flowers was spread out; all the spring flowers—both the early spring flowers and the late spring flowers—came into bloom at the same time as a result of climate change. God can make the flowers bloom one after another in their own time, and He can also make them bloom all at once by changing the environment. He…
The Holy City, Jerusalem
Now, the glory of Jerusalem is being proclaimed rapidly throughout the world according to the prophecies of the Bible, and it is heard that the people of Zion around the world are continuously coming to Jerusalem. Seeing these prophetic signs, we can realize that the glory of Jerusalem will be spread soon to Samaria and to the ends of the earth—to all nations of the world, just as God prophesied. Through the Bible, let’s study the reality of Jerusalem whose glory will be proclaimed to the whole world, and find out what blessings are given to those who participate in Her glory. The Holy City, Jerusalem Christ is to come a second time to bring us salvation (Heb 9:28). Through…
All You Who Love Jerusalem
As the years pass by one after another in our life of faith, the moment is coming closer when we will change into beautiful angels by the grace of Father and Mother. Now, the people of Zion, who are chosen as children of promise and called by God, should have a correct view of Jerusalem our Mother who takes the lead in the gospel work in this age, and should also realize Her sacrifice hidden behind the scenes. When we do so, we will be able to have the proper mindset and faith as God’s heirs who will inherit salvation. Let’s find out how the last gospel work, which our heavenly Mother is leading, goes on every day, through the…
Build Up Goodness
“Building others up” means understanding and accepting others with a broad mind like the sea as it is written in the Teachings of Mother. There are many teachings on virtue or goodness in the Bible. It is because goodness is one of the most important virtues that the people, who have been called to display the glory of Heavenly Mother to the whole world, must possess. Since we are the children of Zion, we ought to honor God with all our heart, mind and strength, keeping the laws of God. When doing all these things, we must add goodness or virtue to them. This is what God wants us to do. Following this will of God, let us engrave in…
The Passover and the Truth of Salvation
Today, the world is suffering from spiritual thirst without hearing the words of God and from rampant disasters (Am 8:11; Jer 44:23). Nevertheless, some people deny God’s word and insist, “The Passover of the new covenant is not the truth of salvation. So we don’t need to celebrate it.” Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, who were religious leaders in those days, for their hypocrisy and said that the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven was not given to them. Even now, there are people like them who claim to believe in God but do not understand the will of God correctly. As the Bible says that God’s people are destroyed from lack…
We Reap What We Sow
In spring, farmers sow in their fields what they want to reap. If it is expected that red pepper farming will earn them lots of income this year, they will plant red pepper seeds; and if it is estimated that the price of garlic will soar, they will plant garlic seeds. So, when the harvest season comes, they will reap red peppers from the field where they planted red pepper seeds and will harvest garlic from the field where they planted garlic seeds It is the same with us who are walking the path of faith, looking forward to the eternal kingdom of heaven. Each and every day, we have to sow the valuable things that we want to reap…
The Seed of God
The Bible tells us that God regards the people, who are to be saved in the last days, as His seed, and that He will see His seed by giving Himself as a guilt offering. Among God’s creatures in nature, a seed has special characteristics. When the seed sprouts to life, it resembles the maternal form exactly. A seed also has the characteristic of bearing fruit. Every kind of seed bears much fruit as it sprouts and possesses its own distinct form and shape. The Bible says that God regards us as His seed. This implies that if we are born again in the truth and grow in faith, we must resemble God and bear fruit. Unless we learn God’s…
“I Have Already Come!”
Starting from the beginning of the new year after the 94th anniversary of the birth of Christ Ahnsahnghong, the shouting of the people of Zion proclaiming the voice of Christ—“I have already come!”—is being heard all over the world. As the good news of Christ’s coming has been reported through mass media such as newspapers, many people are showing much interest, wondering who on earth has come and where He has come from. We have to tell people that God, whom the world is waiting for, has already come. As those who have received God earlier, it is our duty to let them know when God came, where He came from, and why He came, so that they can receive…
The Wicked Cannot Inherit the Kingdom of Heaven
As the gospel of the new covenant spreads to the whole world, the spiritual blind open their eyes, the spiritual deaf hear, and the souls in the shade of death revive. How amazing and marvelous is the power of the new covenant which has been established through the blood of God’s sacrifice! God has promised that He will surely give the forgiveness of sins and eternal life to those who believe in the new covenant and keep it, and He has become our God and made us His people through the new covenant (see Jer 31:31-34). We have been cast down to this earth and waiting for the sentence of death since we committed sin against God in heaven. So,…
Yearning and Waiting for Heaven, Our Dear Home
It seems like yesterday that we started 2011, but it has already come to an end and now another new year has begun. Day after day, year after year, our yearning for the kingdom of heaven and for our Heavenly Father grows bigger and bigger. I think it is around this time every year that the members of Zion feel a mixture of emotions in their hearts all at once, yearning for the eternal kingdom of heaven which they lost and waiting eagerly for Heavenly Father to come to this earth. I hope that all of you will live a worthwhile and valuable life every day, patiently waiting for our hopes to be fulfilled and eagerly looking forward to the…
“I” Who Belong to God and “I” Who Belong to Myself
On our journey of faith towards the everlasting kingdom of heaven, what kind of person am I—“I who belong to God” or “I who belong to myself”? As we reflect upon ourselves, we come to realize that we have often belonged to “myself” rather than “God.” Of course, we used to think to ourselves that we should become “I who belong to God.” However, there were many times when we didn’t have our life completely belonging to God. Now, let’s take some time to examine ourselves if we live as “I who belong to God” or as “I who belong to myself,” through the words of God. Stubbornness and arrogance of “I who belong to myself” The Bible teaches that…
Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven Is Near
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” This is what Jesus fi rst said when He began to preach the gospel after being bap-tized at the age of 30 about 2,000 years ago (Mt 4:17). By saying those words, Jesus expressed His desire for human beings to prepare for the kingdom of heaven by repenting from their hearts. Jesus wanted everyone to enter the kingdom of heaven by living a life of righteousness with a repentant heart as the kingdom of God was drawing near, and that was why He opened the door to preach the gospel by saying, “Repent!” Now we are almost at the end of 2011. The eternal kingdom of God is much closer this year…
A Life With Goals
When we look back on our past lives, at night after finishing each day or at the end of the year, even though we were given the same period of time, some of us might live faithfully and some might not. The difference comes from whether we had a goal or not. When we set a goal and do our best to achieve the goal, a fruitful result is produced. That’s why an individual or a group sets a goal when starting their work. It is the same in our life of faith. While the same period of time flows, those who have a spiritual goal live a faithful life, looking forward to the blessings and glory that they will…
Those Who Please God
God has promised to give His children, who dwell in Zion, the eternal inheritance of the kingdom of heaven where there is no death or pain or sorrow. Giving thanks and glory to God for granting us the promise of the eternal heavenly kingdom which we will possess for ever and ever, we should follow God wherever He leads us, having faith. The Bible says that a wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother (Pr 10:1). As wise sons and daughters of God, we should live a gracious life without any regrets for the gospel, thinking about how we can please God and what kind of faith and determination we must have…
