ASEZ Global Sharing and Volunteering for Winter 2023
As the borders that were tightly closed due to COVID-19 were opened one by one, the global activities of ASEZ, the World Mission Society Church of God University Student Volunteer Group, regained vitality. On vacation, ASEZ members in Korea flew to 28 countries, including the Philippines, Malaysia, India, the U.K., Belgium, Peru, Argentina, and Uganda, from January 11 and provided customized volunteer services for three weeks and extended partnership. Even during the pandemic, ASEZ members in Korea had actively worked online and offline through the Seminar on Human Rights Day and the Environment Day Campaign and so on. Sharing Love With Neighbors for the New Year
The Church of God in Korea donated 4,720 micro-fibre blankets to 220 government offices from January 9 to 18, just before the Lunar New Year holiday. The members of each region visited their government office, hoping that just as a blanket covers the body from cold weather, it would comfort the neighbors who were exhausted from the severe cold waves and the economic hardship caused by the aftermath of COVID-19. The blankets were donated to city halls, ward offices, and administrative welfare centers nationwide to be delivered to neighbors in need of helping hands, such as single senior citizens living alone, adolescent-headed families, single parent families, multicultural families, and families with disabilities. The Church of God Honored With Brazil’s Legislative Merit Medal
In December, 2022, the World Mission Society Church of God received the Medal of Legislative Merit, the highest honor awarded by the National Congress of Brazil. The 3rd Student Webinar, ‘Family, the Source of Happiness’
On October 2 when the beauty of autumn was everywhere, the 3rd Student Webinar, “Family, the Source of Happiness,” was held in the New Jerusalem Imae Temple to enlighten the value of family and the happiness of being together with family to the students, our future generations. ASEZ WAO’s Challenge of Using Public Transportation
ASEZ WAO, World Mission Society Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group conducted the “Challenge of Using Public Transportation” in order to reduce air pollutants and carbon emissions for three weeks between September 5 and September 23 in celebration of “International Day of Clean Air for blue skies” (September 7; hereinafter Day of Clean Air) and “Car Free Day” (September 22). “Day of Clean Air” is the first official UN day proposed by Korea and adopted by the UN in order to make known the importance of protecting the atmospheric environment and raising awareness and interest in climate change. “World Car-Free Day” was established with the goal of improving problems such as air pollution and noise pollution by reducing…

Donating the Disaster Relief Aid for Recovering From Tonga Volcano Eruption
In January, 2022, a submarine volcano erupted near the Island of Hunga Tonga and covered the whole country of Tonga with volcanic ashes. Shock waves from the explosion caused three tsunami waves, which damaged or destroyed about 470 households. The residents who lost their homes overnight could no longer use the rain water as drinking water due to the thick layer of volcanic ashes. Furthermore, due to the prolonged El Nino phenomenon, severe droughts occurred, which worsened the situation. On September 20, World Mission Society Church of God donated 83,000 TOP (about 40,000 USD) to Tonga government to help the victims who were suffering great damage from the volcanic eruption. Student Camp for the Second Half of 2022
Face-to-face classes are being held at schools as the step-by-step daily recovery (with COVID-19) has begun in 2022. Students are glad to see their friends again at school, but they have difficulty adapting to changed school hours and complying with school regulations. Parents are worried about their children's concentration problem and relationship with their friends. The Church of God held the student camp during school break to help students prepare for a new semester in good health and make their vacation a time for learning and growth. Adolescence is a period when the youth have many dreams for the future and worries as well. The World Mission Society Church of God University Student Volunteer Group [ASEZ] was awarded the UNCCD Executive Secretary Award on June 17. ASEZ took part in the virtual choir competition to mark the 10 Years of Changwon Initiative, and received the highest award. The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification [UNCCD] is a convention signed by the international community on June 17, 1994, aiming to prevent desertification caused by indiscriminate development, and to help the areas affected by desertification. Messiah Orchestra Concert for the Passover 2022
Just like a flower announces spring that has come after a long winter, a special event was held to present comfort and hope to the people around the world, exhausted from the long pandemic. On March 27, which was fifteen days before the Passover, the "Messiah Orchestra Concert for the Passover 2022" was held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. Online Summer Student Camp 2021
It has been a year and six months since the coronavirus pandemic was proclaimed. In the prolonged contact-free era, not only adults but also teenagers are suffering from uncertainty. As the path of communication has narrowed significantly due to school closures and social distancing, quite many students complain about anxiety, sense of deprivation, and depression, and there is a raised concern that people are losing the ability to communicate and empathy, and that they will have difficulties in building relationships with other people.
